A full day course at the wonderful Hawkwood College in Stroud. This beautiful setting will provide great inspiration for a creative day, using flowers and plants which we will select and harvest from the organic gardens and wider grounds of the estate.
The day starts with a foraging walk, to identify and harvest materials for dyeing with, using responsible foraging techniques. You will learn how to transfer colour from flowers, berries, leaves and waste foods, into beautiful repeat patterns using a simple bind and steam method. Create your own bundle dyed length of organic British silk to make a scarf. This fascinating process is done without the use of any toxic, synthetic chemicals or heavy metals.
A home-cooked, delicious and organic (as far as possible) lunch will be served and included in the cost, along with lots of tea and cake. All food requirements can be catered for.
£75 including all materials, lunch, tea and cake.
Accommodation at Hawkwood is also available on request, with advance booking.
