Learn the basics of one of the oldest types of printmaking in this one day workshop with Botanical Inks founder Babs Behan. The workshop will begin with an introductory talk on natural dyes and block printing followed by time in the Josef Frank exhibition to gather inspiration and draw up ideas for print designs. Participants will then cut their blocks before breaking for lunch. In the afternoon there will be time to practice block printing before printing a final piece on calico. Depending on the pace of the class, we may also include some natural dye ink mixing.

Materials and a length of calico will be provided for each participant. Other fabrics will be available to purchase at an additional cost from the tutor, on the day.
