A 2-day workshop with visiting artist Babs Behan to introduce you to the art of screen printing using natural dyes, instead of synthetic dyes or inks.

This course will cover natural dye printing ink preparation, using plant dye pigments and plant starches; how to prepare natural fibre cloth for printing on, simple screen printing using paper stencils and finishing fabrics for colour-fast results.

This process is designed to offer the most ecological approach to screen printing, without the use of toxic, synthetic chemicals.

A length of organic British-grown silk will be included in the cost, for printing with. You will leave with your own natural dye printed silk to make into a scarf or other item, along with the skills to continue to practice this technique for yourself.
